SPRING 2019

This Spring I’ve been back on the road with Northern Ballet in their production of ‘Victoria’ with weeks in Sadler's Wells, Leicester, Milton Keynes, Cardiff and Leeds. Super fans can see it in cinemas on 25th June! I have been further revelling in the comfy, no heels, glasses-wearing glory of pit life depping for the UK Tour of the epic ‘Les Misérables’ at the Birmingham Hippodrome.

On the events front I have been fortunate enough to travel (albeit fleetingly!) to Berlin, Antibes, Milan and Lisbon. I now consider myself expert at sleeping on planes. I was featured (not quite on the cover of/page 67493206402) in Brides Magazine on behalf of Tie the Note and was awarded ‘Best Electric Violinist 2019’ at the SME UK Enterprise Awards.

On the artists front I performed with the London Metropolitan Orchestra in an interesting performance with Japanese Taiko drummer Joji Hirota and in a string quartet with singer/songwriter Rhys Lewis for a video for Vevo. But most significantly I played for a performance with string mega royalty Clean Bandit! Having been a huge admirer of their music/gratefully paid my rent with performances of ‘Rather Be’ at a billion bar mitzvahs for many years, this was probably the most exciting gig of my life. It was a massive honour to work with them.

WINTER 2018-19

IMG_5189.JPG

This winter has been a frantic one for me full of more variety of music than ever! The ballet kept me occupied with performances of ‘The Three Musketeers’ and ‘The Nutcracker’ with both Northern Ballet and the English National Ballet companies. High on Heels have also been busy with a series of performances for Selfridges across the UK as well as a trip to Austria to play for the football team Sturm Graz. Other fun gigs include recording Queen’s greatest hits with Keane’s Tom Chaplin for BBC Radio 2’s ‘Friday Night is Music Night’ and showcasing my drama GCSE level acting alongside Usain Bolt (and the rest of the orchestra…) for a new Virgin Media advert! I performed some of the best UK garage covers with the London Remixed Orchestra for the Remixed Festival at Remix in Shoreditch and also really enjoyed playing for the beautiful WW2 musical ‘The Lightning Road’ at St Paul’s, Covent Garden.

It really has been a completely bonkers mixed bag but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it! I will leave you with this video of ‘It doesn’t matter anymore’ which I played for with The Bluejays to the commemorate the 60th anniversary of Buddy Holly’s death.

SUMMER 2018

This summer has been a wild one with more manic travelling to France, Mallorca, Norway, Germany and a cruise around the Greek Islands with Elektra. But the highlight has to be performing with Eminem to audiences of 80,000 at Twickenham Stadium for two dates in July. 50 cent, Ed Sheeran and Skylar Grey also made appearances enabling me to achieve my lifelong ambition to play 'In da club'.

Classic Ibiza with Ministry of Sound, DJ Goldierocks and the Urban Soul Orchestra was also bigger and better than ever this year. I even got to feed my ego by leading the orchestra at Ragley Hall. And if we weren't pining for the 90s enough, at Blickling, Sonique came to perform with us. It was epic and I still keep finding bits of glitter in my violin. Thanks to who all who attended!

In other news I depped on both the Sunset Boulevard UK tour and The Whitney Houston Show with the London Symphonic Rock Orchestra. Events-wise I have performed for private weddings and parties all over the UK although you might have caught me playing alongside DJs at members clubs Home House and Annabels! On the opposite (but no less adored!) end of the spectrum it was a pleasure to perform in Northern Ballet's productions of 'Jane Eyre' at London's Sadler's Wells and 'The Little Mermaid' at the Leicester Curve. You might have also spotted me on Britain's Got Talent and The Voice!

WINTER 2017-18

Performing music by James Horner at the Royal Albert Hall with the Cinematic Sinfonia

Performing music by James Horner at the Royal Albert Hall with the Cinematic Sinfonia

I have been lucky enough to escape the winter cold a few times with jaunts to the Caribbean for Elektra Violins and India with the High on Heels ladies to perform at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Delhi.

In October I really enjoyed a week of fantastic film music at the Royal Albert Hall with the Cinematic Sinfonia. Although I found it very difficult not to sit back and just watch the films and nearly forgot to play a few times.. especially in The Addams Family!

Other highlights included playing for the Evening Standard Theatre Awards with London String Group at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, the Yoni Jesner Foundation at The Cuckoo Club in Mayfair, an evening with boxer Kell Brook for App Empire UK and depping on the UK Tour of Sunset Boulevard. I also played for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year afterparty for the third year running with the Urban Soul Orchestra.

Next up I'm excited to be joining the Northern Ballet Sinfonia for performances of Jane Eyre and a triple bill of ballets by Sir Kenneth MacMillan including music by Shostakovich, Poulenc and Frank Martin in beautiful Leeds!

SUMMER 2017

I have had a busy and exciting summer travelling to India to perform at a wedding with Entourage, to Zurich and Athens with High on Heels and on two European cruises as part of Elektra. I was featured in an advert for the new Sony Experia phone thanks to the London String Group - I had to play in a perspex box whilst paint was dropped on cymbals! I took part in several performances for 'Classic Ibiza' with the Urban Soul Orchestra and Ministry of Sound playing to crowds of up to 6000! Other performances have included the launch for the new perfume hall at Harrods, Wimbledon Ball with the Urban Soul Orchestra, a sunset brunch at the Hilton on Park Lane, Neighbourhood Liverpool with Six15 and a residency at Maddison Restaurant with High on Heels. Summer 2017 also saw the launch of an exciting new project with Sophie Adams with LED violinists and ballerinas called Fireflies. You might have also spotted me on Britain's Got Talent again!
